Jill Hazelbaker Named President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Uber
Jill Hazelbaker—a Washington communications veteran who has spent the last decade shaping how Uber talks to regulators, riders, and the public—has been named to the newly created role of President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. She is now one of two presidents at the company, alongside Andrew Macdonald, who was named President and Chief Operating Officer last year. Both report to CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
Hazelbaker joined Uber in 2015 and has served as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for Communications and Public Policy since 2019. Before that, she led communications and public policy at Snap and spent four years in senior roles at Google. She began her career in politics, serving as communications director for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign and as press secretary for Michael Bloomberg’s 2009 mayoral re-election bid.
In her new role, Hazelbaker adds people and safety operations to a portfolio that already included marketing, communications, and global public policy—an unusually broad remit that puts culture, workforce, and regulatory strategy under one executive. Announcing the change, Khosrowshahi pointed to the years ahead in AI and autonomous vehicles and described her as a leader who translates priorities into results.
Outside Uber, Hazelbaker serves on the Board of Trustees of the McCain Institute and on the national board of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, work that reflects a long commitment to public service and to road safety as a public health issue.
